John was a loyal Federation pilot, until his commanding officer ordered an attack on innocent civilians on a Rebel planet. He refused to obey - and was jailed, branded a traitor, to await the firing squad.

John escaped with his mech, and joined the Rebels, hoping to expose the Federation's corruption and cruelty. He fights with burning passion and fury, using his flamethrower and plasma sword, which has earned him his callsign: Firestorm.
